Second BFA sustainability summit comes to an end
The second British Footwear Association (BFA) sustainability summit convened in Birmingham on April 17, with Vanessa Podmore, a BFA Board member and sustainability expert, and Andrew Hudson, Managing Director of Eurofins BLC, as hosts (see image).
Drawing 200 attendees from various sectors, the day-long conference delved into critical topics like supply chain mapping, traceability, environmental impacts, life cycle analysis, and innovative material approaches.
Joanne Jorgensen, the materials design director for Nike footwear’s Flyknit, delivered the keynote speech.
Speakers from Segura, Covation Bio, Vivobarefoot, Fairfax and Favor, and Coats Footwear provided insights, with sponsorship from partners such as Pavers, Clarks, Insite Insoles, the Boot Repair Company, and Schuh.
