Bihar state to set up two new footwear and leather zones

India’s Council for Leather Exports (CLE) has announced that the state government of Bihar in the east of the country is to launch two “mega leather and footwear zones”.

It will open the two shoe and leather manufacturing zones under a dedicated investment promotions policy the authorities in Bihar launched in 2022. 

One of the sites will be in Muzaffarpur district, about 100 kilometres from the state capital, Patna. The second will be in Kishanganj district, about 375 kilometres from Bihar’s capital.
