Skechers celebrates record-high annual sales

US footwear company Skechers has celebrated its highest-ever sales, bringing in $8 billion for the 12 months ended December 31, an increase of 7.5% on the year previous.

The brand’s inventory also decreased by 16.1%, representing $292.6 million in value, a significant gain over the comparative full-year period.

Skechers made the Fortune 500 list for the first time last summer.

The business’ new annual sales record was “the result of the broad acceptance [of] our products worldwide, our loyal and growing consumer base, the relationships cultivated with our partner network, and our determined and dedicated team,” said chief executive, Robert Greenberg.

The final quarter brought in 15% growth across Asia-Pacific, led by double-digit advances in the Chinese market, added chief operating officer, David Weinberg. Meanwhile, the Americas were up 3%.

Europe, the Middle East and Africa experienced a year-on-year decline of 7%.
