Industry bodies in Italy to present joint strategy
Four national bodies in Italy with links to leather and finished leather products will hold a joint press conference in Milan on September 21 to present a new joint strategy for promoting the industry in the context of the circular economy.
UNIC, Assocalzaturifici, Assopellettieri and Assomac, which represent leahter, footwear, leathergoods and machinery manufacturers respectively, will all speak at the event, which will take place at the Lineapelle exhibition.
They are working with management consultancy The European House-Ambrosetti to develop the strategy.
The four industry bodies said in the build-up to the event that the leather value chain represented one of the clearest examples of manufacturing moving towards the circular economy.
