Exports and imports increase for South African footwear

Footwear manufacturers in South Africa exported shoes with a combined value of around $115 million in the first seven months of 2023. This represents an increase of 13% compared to the same months in 2022.

Between January and July this year, South Africa imported footwear with a total value of $545 million, an increase of 6.4% year on year.

These figures come from the South African Revenue Services. They include statistics for Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho and Namibia because these five countries make up the The Southern African Customs Union.
