Revenues up for Bata Pakistan, but higher costs hit profits

Footwear group Bata Pakistan has reported revenues of around $32.75 million for the first six months of 2023, an increase of 19.4% year on year.
Its profits from these revenues increased too, but by the lower figure of 6.7%.
Bata said profits had been affected by a higher cost of doing business in 2023 compared to 2022. Specifically, it incurred higher distribution costs and an increase in administrative expenses compared to last year.
