Fall of 10% for Wolverine in H1

Footwear group Wolverine Worldwide has reported revenues of just under $1.2 billion for the first half of 2023. This figure represents a decline of more than 10% year on year.

New chief executive, Chris Hufnagel, said the group’s outlook for the second half of this year was disappointing. But he said Wolverine was confident of significant improvement in 2024.

Mr Hufnagel said: “The current adversity has not only deepened our conviction that our strategic direction is more correct than ever, but that we must execute it with greater boldness and speed.”

The group announced that Mr Hufnagel had taken over as chief executive from Brendan Hoffman on releasing its half-yearly results.
