Sports group New Balance has made a first foray into American football. It has confirmed Chase Young, defensive end for NFL team Washington Commanders, as the group’s first ambassador for American football.

The athlete will represent the Klutch Athletics by New Balance brand. The group launched the Klutch Athletics brand in partnership with sports agent and entrepreneur Rich Paul in February this year. Rich Paul is its chief executive.

Group chief marketing officer, Chris Davis, said that having Chase Young represent New Balance was emblematic of its commitment to performance innovation. “Chase will play a fundamental role in developing our new American football cleats,” he added.
