A 12% increase in revenues for Decathlon in 2022
Sports retail and product manufacturing group Decathlon has announced full-year revenues of €15.4 billion for 2022, an increase of 12% year on year.
It said online sales accounted for 17% of the total, which the group described as “a sharp increase” compared to the time before the covid-19 pandemic; the corresponding figure for 2019 was 8%.
In 2022, Decathlon also achieved a reduction in its carbon footprint and has announced, for the first time, a decrease of its absolute carbon emissions. These were down by 1.5% compared to the previous year. In addition, it described 23% of all of the products it sold in 2022 as ‘eco-designed’, up from 10% of products in 2021.
Chief executive, Barbara Martin Coppola, said: “Decathlon achieved a solid performance in a very unstable economical and geopolitcal context.” She added that, in 2023, the group would continue its efforts to encourage more people to become “moved by the wonders of sport”.
