More responsible production leads Limonta to new Clima collection

Woven fabrics manufacturer Limonta presented a new collection of its Clima materials at Lineapelle in Milan in February.

It describes Clima as “the sustainable evolution” of its traditional coated materials because the collections use recycled, low-impact raw materials from renewable resources.

It said the fabrics are suitable for making footwear uppers, apparel and other products.

“We believe that developing more responsible production models is not only a necessary choice, but an investment for the future” Limonta said at Lineapelle.

The company is currently producing by using solar panels 50% of the energy it consumes. Its water treatment operations recover 15% of the water it consumes for reuse. It is also able to bring 99% of solvents back into its production cycles by using a distillation plant.
