Luxury brand Chanel took its celebration of craftsmanship and artisan skills to Africa in mid-December, presenting its most recent designs from the LVMH group’s wider Métiers d’Art programme in the Senegalese capital, Dakar.

Events centred on a new arts space, 19M, which will open to the public in January.

Chanel used the space to shed light on the skilled work of its own craftspeople and also gave local artisans a chance to display their work.
