Pre-Micam tour to ‘anticipate the mood’ of AW23-24 collections
The organisers of the Micam footwear exhibition have announced three “teaser events” in different cities ahead of the next edition of the show, which will be in Milan from February 19-22.
This series of teaser events will start on December 1 in Berlin, at the Soho House Polit Bureau, with an exhibition of footwear by emerging designers.
Next, the event will move to South Korea and go on show on December 5 at High Street Italia in Seoul, followed by an event in Brussels on December 14 at the Bruxelles Tour & Taxis Orangerie.
These three teaser events have been organised in partnership with export promotions body the Italian Trade Agency to offer an opportunity to present new trends and “anticipate the mood of autumn-winter 2023-2024 collections”.
“Micam has always offered dealers all over the world a privileged opportunity to keep up with the latest trends and new developments in footwear,” said the president of Italian footwear manufacturing industry body Assocalzaturifici, Giovanna Ceolini.
She went on to say Italy had confirmed its position as the EU’s biggest footwear manufacturer, producing 148.8 million pairs of shoes per year.
