Pakistan looks towards Indonesia for ways to be better
A specialist delegation from Pakistan’s industry ministry travelled to Indonesia at the end of November with the specific objective of setting up opportunities for the footwear and leather industry in Pakistan to improve.
Leader of the delegation was Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, chief executive of the Pakistan’s National Productivity Organisation, a body run by the industry ministry. Leather manufacturers and producers of leather garments and footwear were also part of the delegation.
Media in Pakistan said tanners are finished product manufacturers were seeking opportunities to learn from their counterparts in Indonesia with a view to becoming more productive, and reducing their consumption of energy and water.
