Slipper revamp sees Camper team up with local wool project
Footwear brand Camper has launched a new, limited-edition version of its Wabi slipper.
It launched this style more than 20 years ago, but has worked closely with a material supplier called Llanatura to create the new version for its autumn-winter 2022-2023 collection.
All aspects of the production of the new Wabi take place on the island of Mallorca, where Camper and Llanatura are both based.
Llanatura uses traditional, handcraft techniques to develop fabric from the the virgin fleece of native sheep by hand. It employs people made vulnerable by mental health, and it promotes local, regenerative farming.
Camper said its work with Llanatura takes it “one step closer to achieving a more responsible and sustainable product”.
