Footwear will be part of the focus of new Uzbek technology centre
The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Republic of Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish an Italian technological centre to support local Uzbek economic development. The agreement will be sanctioned by the Uzbek ministry of innovation.
Following a series of preparatory meetings with Italian industry bodies, including ASSOMAC, which represents providers of technology for footwear and leather manufacture, the project proposal took shape for a service and technology transfer centre.
ASSOMAC had already met Uzbek industry associations during the Simac-Tanning Tech exhibition in Milan in September.
