Anpic celebrates its 60th edition

The 60th edition of the Mexican leather, materials, machinery, and components fair, Anpic, closed its doors on October 21 after a satisfactory return to a person-to-person format.

Organiser, APIMEX, said there was a good turnout of  exhibitors and visitors at the event, which was held at the Poliforum in León, Guanajuato.

During a press conference, Fernando Padilla, president of APIMEX, said that at this edition of the fair which presented trends for the fall-winter 2023 fashion season, there were 304 exhibitors. At the equivalent event in 2019, before the pandemic took hold, there were 352 exhibitors, which means that 86% of the 2019 participants returned, indicating that the business sector is in a solid recovery phase.

Visitors were estimated at 8,000 and the event. In a statement Anpic confirmed that buyers had come from 19 countries, including Germany and Canada. In addition, for the first time there were buyers from Ireland, Turkey and Mauritania. Other countries that attended were Italy, the US, Brazil, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia, El Salvador, Uruguay, Nicaragua and Honduras.
