Rocky Brands carves out new role for former CFO
US shoe group Rocky Brands has promoted internal candidate Tom Robertson to the newly created role of chief operating officer, following more than five and a half years as chief financial officer and treasurer at the company.
Mr Robertson, who joined Rocky Brands in October 2016 as a senior financial analyst, is a certified public accountant and holds a Master of Accountancy degree from Bowling Green State University, where he previously completed his undergraduate studies. Alongside the position of chief financial officer and treasurer, the senior executive has also served as executive vice-president and, prior to this, vice-president at the group.
Earlier in his career, he worked as an audit manager at Deloitte after close to seven years with accounting firm Schneider Downs.
“Establishing the role of chief operating officer is an important milestone for Rocky Brands as we take the next step forward in driving profitable growth through operational efficiency,” said board chair and chief executive, Jason Brooks. “I know Tom is well-equipped to help us maximise our opportunities in his new role.”
The appointee will continue on as chief financial officer until his replacement has been onboarded.
In related news, president of manufacturing and sourcing operations, David Dixon, has left his position with immediate effect. Mr Dixon had spent 29 years with the business.
Founded in 1932, the Rocky Brands portfolio today includes brands Rocky Boots, Ranger, Lehigh Outfitters, Durango Boot, Servus and The Original Muck Boot Company.
