Half a century and record sales for Manolo Blahnik
The celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Manolo Blahnik brand was accompanied by record sales results and a return to profit in 2021.
Pre-tax profits rose to €6.5 million euros compared to a €4.7 million loss in 2020. Sales increased by 65% to €69.9 million from the €42.3 million achieved in 2020.
The company recorded these results despite store closures during lockdowns in the early part of the year and because of the performance of e-commerce purchases that grew by triple digits.
During 2021, Manolo Blahnik expanded its presence in the US opening a head office and new flagship boutique on Madison Avenue in New York, as well as a second store in East Hampton.
CEO, Kristina Blahnik, noted that sales were progressing well in 2022 and she also mentioned the company’s victory in a long-running trademark case in China in June this year, which will allow it to advance in its development plans in the Chinese market.
