Record footwear exports for Portugal in H1

The Portuguese footwear industry has reported export revenues of €957 million for the first half of 2022 and shipments of 40 million pairs.

These figures represent an increase of 27% in value and of 22% in volume year on year and represent a record: Portugal’s previous best first six months for footwear exports was in 2017.

President of industry body APICCAPS, Luis Onofre, said Portuguese brands and done detailed homework during the covid-19 pandemic and were now winning customers all over the world.
