A robust first-half performance for JD Sports

27/09/2022

Sports footwear and clothing retail group JD Sports has reported revenues of £4.4 billion for the first half of its business year, the six months to July 30, 2022.

More than £4.1 billion came from what the group refers to as sports fashion; sales of outdoor products brought in around £275 million.

The total figure represents an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period last year.

JD Sports said its stores in the UK and Ireland had delivered “a robust performance”, and that its development in other markets had been positive too. The group opened more than 50 new stores across Europe during the six-month period and now has more than 100 stores trading as JD in North America.

It also opened new stores in Australia in the course of the first half of the year and established joint-venture retail arrangements in Indonesia and Israel.
