BCG publishes top 50 innovative companies for 2022
20/09/2022
Announcing this, the sixteenth annual report of its kind, on September 15, BCG said that, for the first time, it had asked companies on the 2022 list about the importance of climate and sustainability in innovation.
It concluded that, while more than 65% of companies on the list say they rank climate and sustainability as a top corporate priority, only around 20% of them are ready to act on the commitments they have voiced.
“Many companies talk about sustainability and make net-zero emissions pledges,” said Justin Manly, global leader of BCG’s growth and innovation segment and co-author of this year’s report, “far too few of them have truly done the work of integrating climate and sustainability priorities into their innovation engines and producing tangible results.”
He commented that it was essential for more companies to turn words into action, saying: “Investors, regulators, customers, and shareholders are all looking to big companies to take the lead in making real progress against global warming.”
