Sports clothing and footwear retail group JD Sports has announced Régis Schultz as its new chief executive officer. It said it had conducted an extensive executive global search before making the appointment.

Mr Schultz will take up the role in September from Dubai-based group Al-Futtaim, which many global brands have worked with to launch retail operations in the Middle East. He was previously chief executive of French retail group Monoprix.
