Growth for Pakistan footwear industry
Pakistan’s leather industry achieved export revenues of $735 million in the first nine months of the current financial year, the period from July 2021 to March 2022. This represents an increase of almost 15% year on year.
The country’s footwear producers shipped 13.9 million pairs of shoes over the nine-month period, bringing in revenues of $117 million.
Its leathergoods manufacturers contributed more than $460 million, up by 8.5%.
Tanners exported 11.75 million square-metres of finished leather, with a value of $155 million, growth of 40% in volume and of more than 35% in value.
