Italy’s national footwear manufacturers association, Assocalzaturifici, has said its recent event in Kazakhstan, La Moda Italiana@Almaty in Almaty, sounded “a note of cautious optimism”. The event took place from April 6-8.

It said “the entire Kazakh fashion community” attended the event, along with entrepreneurs, buyers, bloggers and influencers.

Figures for the first 11 months of 2021, the most recent available, show that Italian manufacturers exported 207,000 pairs of footwear to Kazakhstan over that period. These shoes and boots had an average price per pair of €83.08.
