Growth for Pakistan footwear exports
The Pakistan leather industry achieved export revenues of $660 million in the first eight months of the current financial year, the period from July 2021 to February 2022. This is an increase of 16.3% year on year.
Tanners exported 10.3 million square-metres of finished leather with a value of $134 million, an increase of almost 60% in volume and of more than 35% in value.
Footwear manufacturers exported 12 million pairs of shoes over the eight-month period bringing in export revenues of a little over $100 million. This showed an increase in volume of 9% and a rise in value of 17.7%.
