Micam moves to March

After a flurry of announcements regarding the first editions of 2022 of the major Milan-based industry events, we can confirm that Lineapelle will go ahead as planned from February 22-24, showcasing leather collections for the spring-summer 2023 fashion season.

As announced previously, there was no intention to run Simac and Tanning Tech this February. Instead, these machinery-focused events will next run in September, in parallel with the autumn edition of Lineapelle.

This time, however, footwear exhibition Micam and its leather accessories-focused counterpart Mipel had been scheduled to overlap with Lineapelle, with the first day of the leather event coinciding with the last day of the finished product shows. This will not happen now.

Instead, Micam and Mipel have moved to new dates in March. They will now take place from March 13-15, still with the Rho exhibition centre in Milan as the venue.

Explaining the date change, the organisers of Micam said it had been requested by the market because the delay will offer more buyers the chance to travel to Milan if covid-19 restrictions continue to ease in many countries.

“Physical shows are indispensable in the fashion business,” they said.
