University team to work with INESCOP on design technology tools
Spanish footwear technology institute INESCOP has signed a new partnership agreement with a research group called UNICAD, which is based at the University of Alicante.
Their main aim will be to work together to develop new digital design applications for the shoe sector. They have talked of introducing “disruptive technologies for the footwear industry that will lead to important technical advances”.
The partners said new CAD-CAM applications for the digital design of lasts, heels, heel-beds, insoles and other components will provide footwear manufacturers with greater agility in developing prototypes and savings in the cost of producing samples.
