Mephisto hopes to spark ISTA students’ interest in footwear
Students from the Institut Supérieur Textile d’Alsace (ISTA) made a formal visit on November 24 to the factory that footwear brand Mephisto runs in Sarrebourg.
ISTA, based in Mulhouse, is a business school that focuses on textiles, fashion and leather. Its students frequently go on to work in product management, merchandising, purchasing and marketing roles in the fashion industry.
Mephisto said it had been pleased to show the students the wide variety of processes that take place in a footwear factory. The shoe brand said it had been a pleasure to enter into discussion with the students about the footwear industry and the artisanship of the people who work in it.
“We hope to have instilled in the students a desire to become part of this wonderful industry,” it said.
