Pandemic takes its toll on Seville-based shoe group

Footwear retail group Marypaz may close 19 of its 90 remaining stores in a new restructuring exercise. Reports in Spain suggest the Seville-based group may also shed 20% of its workforce of around 350 people.

Marypaz emerged from an administration event in 2019 under new owner, Álvaro Pellón. However, in 2020, it closed 33 stores and made 130 employees redundant.
