Growth for Mizuno

11/08/2021

Sports group Mizuno has reported revenues of 42.9 billion yen ($390 million) for the first quarter of its current business year, April, May and June 2021.

It said the figure represented an increase of 50% compared to the same quarter in 2020.
Mizuno said this growth was because of a recovery in its operations following disruption caused by the covid-19 pandemic. It added that sales of golf clubs and running shoes had been particularly strong.

Sales in Japan accounted for more than 63% of the total. The Americas contributed nearly 15%, while Europe’s share was just over 11%, with Oceania and the rest of Asia combining to contribute 10%.

In terms of product categories, apparel contributed 29.8% of the total, footwear 28.4%, equipment 27% and services and other products 14.7%.
