New system combines technology from Desma and Stoll
Soling technology provider Desma has entered a new partnership with textile machinery developer Stoll to put together a new integrated shoe production system.
The companies have said the system they have devised has the potential to offer shoe manufacturers a “radical reduction of lead times in the development and production process”.
This process starts with the production of seamless, 3D-knitted uppers using Stoll flat weft knitting technology, which are then attached directly to dual-layer sole constructions using direct sole attachment technology from Desma.
Both partners have said the new solution will reduce the number of production steps required to make a shoe and reduce waste.
