South Korean outdoor brand Treksta recently launched Forest, a style of lifestyle sneaker which local media described as made from 100% recycled materials. 

The shoes’ uppers have been knitted from Global Recycled Standard (GRS)-certified yarn derived from recycled plastic bottles, while the outsoles are recycled rubber. 

All other components are also “eco-friendly”, Korean media said. 

The relatively lightweight footwear reportedly weighs in at 277 grammes apiece.
