Munich event moves to October
Event organiser Messe München is to move its OutDoor by ISPO exhibition to the autumn, for this year only.
Rather than the original date in July, the event will now take place in Munich from October 5-7. Messe München chief executive, Klaus Dittrich, said on announcing the change, that the current situation with covid-19 meant the organisers were unable to guarantee that they would be able to run the event in July.
But because, by the October date, most new orders will already have been placed, Mr Dittrich said the 2021 event will take place as “a global summit”. There will be on-site meetings in Munich and a “digital extension” to offer what he called “space for exchange, inspiration and information”.
This will include the European Outdoor Summit, which the European Outdoor Group (EOG) organises. Commenting on this, EOG president, Mark Held, said the combined event would create “a trend-setting industry meeting with the highest level of added value for everyone involved under the current circumstances”.
