Specialist outdoor product manufacturer and retail co-operative REI has announced that it will launch its first ever company-made footwear in April. There will be two styles, Traverse and Flash.

Traverse is a backpacking boot that will also work well on day hikes too. Flash, on the other hand, is more suitable to light hikes and trail-running.

REI said the launch of its own footwear products had been a two-year project.
