Former Balmain colleagues launch their own brand
In spite of covid-19, two former executives at Balmain, Françoise Misiraca and Charlotte Sauvat, have gone ahead with plans to launch their own high-end women’s footwear brand, La Ligne Numérotée.
Ms Sauvat has been a shoe and accessories designer for 17 years, working at Michel Vivien, Lanvin and Isabel Marant before joining Balmain. Ms Misiraca spent 18 years at Balmain, working in a variety of roles, including as the head of its men’s department.
They have said that launching Paris-based La Ligne Numérotée this autumn is their attempt to “reconnect with a certain couture spirit” and that the brand will create “high-quality, timeless, meaningful” products that put style before trends.
Their footwear is produced in a small, family-run atelier in Tuscany.
