Bangladesh’s leather industry has seen a sharp decline in export earnings across all sectors. Earnings from leather and leathergoods fell to $154.7 million from $185.4 million, representing a 16.5% decrease year on year for the July-August period.
During the same period, leather footwear exports saw a fall of 11.9% to $105 million while other leather products brought in $34 million, down 22.9%.
