Dutch companies seek to boost trade with Vietnam

Vietnam’s ability to increase its footwear and sportswear manufacturing to take advantage of a new European trade agreement was the subject of an online conference between Vietnamese manufacturers and Dutch companies.

The event was organised by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and the Dutch Association of Sport Product Manufacturers and Wholesalers (FGHS).

Local publication VietnamNet reported that demand for sportswear products in the Netherlands was high, despite the pandemic.

The general secretary of the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (LEFASO), Phan Th Thanh Xuân, urged Vietnamese companies to invest in technology and to study international trade agreements.a
