Asics springy shoe aimed at younger runners

Taking inspiration from a trampoline, the midsole of the Novablast shoe from Asics is said to let runners “spring from stride to stride”.

The lightweight design is said to give an “energetic underfoot feel that suits a younger runner looking for a springy, fun experience”, according to the company’s website.

The proprietary Flytefoam Blast midsole is said to give the shoe a soft but responsive feeling underfoot, with a weight of only 275g for men and 225g for women.

With a mesh upper and no stitched or welded overlays, the shoe also uses Asics’ Aharplus rubber, designed with three times the abrasion resistance as the brand’s traditional outsole.
