Clarks temporarily closing stores

British international shoe brand Clarks has temporarily closed all of its stores in the UK, Ireland and the US, in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Joe Ulloa, general manager for the UK and the Republic of Ireland, said: “We reached this decision after considerable thought and input from our valued team. Our store employees will continue to receive pay and benefits during this temporary closure.”

He added that some franchise stores may remain open, and customers can continue to shop from the online store. Clarks will continue to monitor the situation and, Mr Ulloa said, “will be reviewing the decision of when to re-open our stores when the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers can be protected”.
