Customer challenge leads COIM to develop renewable TPU
Italian chemicals manufacturer COIM has added to its Laripur range of products with Laripur RS, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) that the company says is “environmentally sustainable”.
These product contains up to 70% of raw materials from bio-derived, renewable sources, the company said, and offers “total recyclability”.
COIM said footwear to sporting goods are among the applications it envisages for the product.
The company’s global manager for TPU, Antonio Piroddi, said COIM had developed the new product in response to challenges its customers had set it.
