Optimism in Brazil after Couromoda

30/01/2020
The latest edition of the Couromoda footwear exhibition, which took place in São Paulo from January 13 to 15, attracted 12% more visitors than the same edition last year, leading to expressions of optimism for growth in 2020.

Exhibitors presented 1,200 footwear collections for the next autumn-winter season at the event, and visitors came from every part of Brazil to see them, especially from the south and south-east.

Couromoda event director, Jeferson Santos, said afterwards that he had a feeling that 2020 will be “very promising”. Some brands have said they are hopeful of growth of 20% this year. Their hopes are buoyed by tax relief programmes that are coming in for shoe manufacturers in the states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul.
