At the start of the 2020 ISPO exhibition in Munich on January 26, Ziben said it would start using recycled Sympatex lining laminates in its waterproof footwear. The two companies have not worked together before.
Sympatex said its waterproof, breathable, PTFE- and PFC-free membrane ensures “the best microclimate, high-wearing comfort and dry feet for maximum performance in all weather conditions”.
The footwear in which Ziben is using the technology is based on “modern trekking shoes”, focusing on weatherproof, comfortable, stylish safety shoes. “The wearer should feel so good that they want to wear the shoes at all times and everywhere, even outside work,” the Korean company said. They also include the company’s proprietary, patented All-In-One outsole system, which it describes as having “a bulletproof midsole and insole” to minimise foot fatigue through cushioning and elasticity.
Ziben currently employs over 1,000 people and serves the market with a range of 12 safety shoe lines.
