Japan: shoe imports on the rise

Newly released figures show that Japan’s imports of bags and other leathergoods had a value of more than $600 million between January and July, which represents an increase of 12.6%.

Over the same period, Japan imported footwear worth more than $525 million, up by 3.5%.

Its exports of bags and other leathergoods also increased, bringing in $8.25 million, an increase of 9.4%. Exports of footwear had a value of $56 million, down by 9.5%.
