Pianist celebrates Australian ties through footwear

Mr Hough was born near Liverpool but became an Australian citizen in 2005, partly in tribute to his father, who was born in New South Wales.
He arrived in Sydney and, rather than make musical icons such as the Sydney Opera House his first port of call, the pianist took to Twitter to make it clear that footwear was his first priority. He made directly for Coombs Shoe Repairs, a few hundred metres from the city’s Recital Hall.
His request was to have rubber soles put onto some new boots from footwear brand RM Williams, the South Australia-based rugged footwear brand that has actor Hugh Jackman as an investor and global ambassador.
