No place for sneakers in Tod’s capsule collection
Shoes, bags and some apparel are all included in a new capsule collection that Moroccan-Israeli designer Alber Elbaz has completed for Italian footwear group Tod’s.

In comments after the launch of the collection, which has the name Happy Days, Mr Elbaz said the invitation to work with Tod’s chief executive, Diego Della Valle, gave him the opportunity to reinterpret the classic Tod’s moccasin.

Versions of the shoe that Mr Elbaz has come up with have bright colours, including pink, blue and orange, metallic leather and other effects. The designer has also incorporated a sneaker sole into his creation. He said he originally considered creating an entire sneaker in the collection but, after looking into this, concluded that the market for sneakers is “completely saturated and to add yet another sneaker would not have made sense”.
