FFC names winners of student design competition

French Footwear Federation (FFC) has named Lauriane Paradis and Nolwenn Darras as the winners of a student design competition it has run this year.

Ms Paradis designed a shoe called La Grue, while her fellow-winner called her creation Oil Spill. A group of 17 students from three schools in different parts of France (Paris, Cholet and Romans-sur-Isère) entered ideas for the competition, with a panel of judges choosing six finalists.

This group of six spent time with six different shoe manufacturers (Acerti, Pindière, Romanaise de la Chaussure, La Manufacture 49, Danse Azur and Magic Feet) to turn their ideas into real footwear products. After online votes and the assessment of the panel of judges, Ms Darras and Ms Paradis emerged as the winners.
