Self-assessment tool to become part of LWG

                    It said the self-assessment tool, which launched in 2016, can help tanneries worldwide understand fully what they need to do to produce leather in a sustainable way. LWG also said that becoming part of its programme will mean the Tannery of the Future tool will continue to develop.
At the time of the announcement, Antoinette Gast, co-initiator of Tannery of the Future, said a number of tanners have already used the self-assessment tool as a precursor to going through an LWG audit. For this reason, she said integrating Tannery of the Future into the LWG programme was “a logical step”.
