Gallery Shoes to host shoe and leather seminars

Among the seminars and conference events taking place around the upcoming Gallery Shoes exhibition in Düsseldorf (March 10-13) will be a presentation from the German Federal Association of the Footwear and Leathergoods Industry (HDS/L) giving insight into the current situation of the footwear industry in the German market.

The organisation will offer up-to-date statistics on the production, sales and exports of German footwear manufacturers, as well as on imports and overall consumption in the domestic market.

In addition, Carola Grummt, head of business development and product management at textile research and testing organisation Oeko-Tex will give a talk on Sustainable Textile and Leather Production certification. Oeko-Tex argues that this certification gives manufacturers of leathergoods a means of proving and communicating that they are producing sustainably.
