New creative director at ‘not for sale’ Ferragamo

                    Mr Andrew joined Ferragamo in September 2016 as women’s footwear director, moving up a year later to lead the overall women’s division as creative director.
The group has said Guillaume Meilland will maintain his role as men’s ready-to-wear design director, taking on the additional responsibility of studio director, which will see him coordinate the development of all product categories under the new creative director.
Speculation has been rife in recent months that Ferragamo is considering a buyout. This intensified in October 2018 following the death of Wanda Ferragamo, honourary president of the group and widow of its eponymous founder.
Chairman Ferrucio Ferragamo has again poured water on these suggestions. Speaking in Milan on February 23, he said: “We’re in love with this company, it’s not up for sale.”
