Fall for Spanish footwear exports in 2018

Spanish footwear manufacturers achieved export revenues of almost €2.5 billion in 2018, shipping 141.5 million pairs to overseas markets in the course of the year.

These figures represent a small decline in revenues of 0.6% compared to 2017 and a fall in volume of 4.4%.

However, the price per exported pair of shoes rose in 2018 to €17.47, an increase of 3.9% compared to 2017.

Footwear industry association was disappointed at a decrease in exports last year to key markets including the US and Italy. But there were increases of 33% in the value of shoe exports from Spain to China last year, and a rise of almost 50% in revenues from South Korea.
